Tough Love

Things you might not like about ForeGoals, but that will make you better.

THE BIG ONE

Strokes Lost tells you what really cost you.

You remember the drives in the trees. Strokes Lost counts everything else, and your Coach gives you constructive feedback on what it finds, even when it isn't what you wanted to hear.

Your biggest problem may not be the one you think.

5 three-putts
5.0 strokes lost
2 drives into Trouble
1.0 stroke lost

The drives are what you'll talk about in the clubhouse. The Coach tells you putting is your biggest problem.

It calls out how a hole got away from you.

  • Multiple errors on one hole. One mistake rarely makes a big number. The Coach points out when you stacked them.
  • A good drive you gave back. You hit the drive, then turned it into a double with a missed green, a bad chip and a three-putt. The drive didn't cost you that hole.

And a few more things you might not like

We only ask about your first putt.

You'll want to blame your second putt, but really it's always the first putt. We don't even count past three putts. It's just 3+.

Three putts count from the fringe, the green or the fairway.

Not just the green. You can get these up and down.

You won't see your score until the round is over.

You should only focus on each hole and how to achieve your target score for that hole.

Setting a target score will frustrate you when you don't achieve it.

But understanding what makes up that score will help you start to achieve it.

A mishit drive into the fairway is not a fairway hit.

It counts as Way Short, because it cost you about half a stroke, at least.
